This section contains tables with analytical results obtained in analysis of various materials on emission spectrometers manufactured and installed by OKB SPECTR in different enterprises of Russia and near abroad.

The tables include the results of analysis of element composition of the samples with known makeup. There were used either standard samples, or the samples whose composition had been pre-determined by some other independent method: “wet” chemical method, ICP spectrometer, etc. The tables contain the results of several parallel measurements, average concentration calculated from these measurements compared with the rated concentration value, as well as error of determination of concentration (difference of the measured and rated values) compared with the acceptable error according to corresponding GOST. The tables do not carry results of measurements of all elements existing in a sample, but only those whose concentrations are known from independent methods.

Results obtained on MFS-8, MFS-10 spectrometers

Lead, Pb-Sn-Sb alloys

Analysis of lead and lead alloys is one of conventional applications of MFS-8.

The practiced methods of analysis allow operating with lead up to C1 grade, and carry out unlimited analysis of lead- and tin-based alloys. It should be noted that now in Russia there exists a severe problem of standard lead samples for calibration, there is shortage of standards of this kind.

The table gives an example of adjustment of MFS-8 channels for analysis of lead and lead alloys. The spare channels can be adjusted to additional elements according to the customer’s Design Criteria. With this configuration, the ranges of concentrations being measured are determined by the customer’s Design Criteria for lead and lead alloys (solders, babbits, lead antimonides) rather than the spectrometer capabilities.
