MFS-11 – The compact reliable modern instrument for the motor and transmission oils analysis on deterioration products of engines and other mechanisms in process of their operation. The spectrometer is used for diagnostics of engines, transmissions, other mechanisms of planes, locomotives, trucks, tractors etc. It is the device of the new generation combining advantages of well proved spectrometer MFS-7 with the advanced technical decisions.

The important advantage of new spectrometers is possibility to register all spectrum of the analyzed sample. It allows quickly find out new inclusions and impurity besides analysis of in advance certain elements.

No purge using argon is required for operation.

The modern design with application of the reliable and checked up components provides performance of accuracy norms and measurement ranges concentration of elements according to standard other documents requirements. That is why MFS-11 – the fine instruments for monitoring of career techniques, a rolling stock of railways, planes etc.

Optical System

The optical system is a well proven 500 mm Paschen-Runge. In order to ensure spatial stability of the spectrum, all the optical elements are installed on a stable cast-iron platform.

The light detectors are represented by linear CCD detectors, mounted so as to prevent any blind zones, and allowing the analytical signals to be recorded over the entire spectral range. Compared to the separate spectral line measurements using the photomultiplier tubes, the CCD arrays combine virtually unlimited analytical capabilities in a single instrument.

Sample Stand

MFS-11 is equipped with a special-purposed sample stand devoted for analysis of wear debris contained in various machine oils. This type of diagnostics provides determination of the mechanical conditions of engines, reducers, transmissions, etc.

The liquid oil samples are taken into the analytical discharge gap using a special rotating quartz disk. The disk rotating speed can be regulated according to the oil viscosity.

Excitation Source

The digital controlled low-voltage spark source. The discharge current amplitude and its waveform, as well as the pulse duration and repetition rate are adjusted over a wide range, what makes it possible to analyze oils, various metallic, alloys and other materials and non-metallic samples.

The complete computerized control of the generator makes it possible to:

  • choose optimum excitation parameters (discharge pulse current form and frequency).
  • switch between different discharge modes in a single analytical exposure (one can use up to 5 different modes including the High Energy PreSparking - HEPS).
  • perform additional discharge front sharpening.
  • automatically set up the generator parameters for each analytical program.

All these features result in improvement of accuracy and precision of the analysis and in an advanced performance of the spectrometer.

Readout System

The readout system supports spectrometer control, testing and measurement of the analytical signals. Our spectrometers use the most modern electronic components, thus reducing size, power consumption and heating requirements. Due to the high speed USB interface, all 40000 spectrum data points can be transferred to the computer almost instantly.

WinCCD Software

WinCCD is powerful software designed for data processing and hardware control in modern atomic emission spectrometers based on multichannel CCD detectors. WinCCD includes numerous spectral data manipulation tools as well as analytical features, previously developed in our WinQuant software.

Wide functionality and flexibility make WinCCD an excellent analytical instrument that allows both qualitative and precise quantitative analysis to be performed. WinCCD allows autonomous operation, what is very useful for data post processing. It contains extensive spectral lines database and numerous sample spectra.

WinCCD software makes it possible to:

  • Register emission spectra in the full spectral range of the spectrometer.
  • Perform qualitative analysis of unknown samples.
  • Choose the most suitable analytical and reference lines.
  • Take into account the spectral interference with the background and nearby lines.
  • Make calibration curves in normal and log scale, taking into account inter-element interference effects and base concentration depletion in high-alloys.

WinCCD boasts the following distinguished features:
